Venus
Dissonant venusian aspects (non-dominant Venus)
by Richard Pellard
English translation by Julien Rouger

The interpretation examples that we are suggesting are very far from being exhaustive : they only show and outline a general frame describing the issues of the aspect. They should therefore not be taken literally. Each being brings indeed its own responses, more or less original, to the questions raised by an aspect. There is no magic formula. Through using the R.E.T. and the Theory of Ages and combining logic, observation and imagination, you will be able to develop a thousand other possible meanings, a thousand other variations on the same theme.

Dissonant Venus-Moon aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Moon ‘p’ ↔ Venus ‘eR’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when the Moon dominates : you maintain your well-being and your peaceful tranquility by avoiding letting yourself be touched, moved, tempted or seduced. You weave ties of intimacy and osmosis such that you feel exempted from granting to others testimonies of affection, signs of tenderness or attention to your presence. Your unconscious, carefree and sated egocentrism makes you behave as if the other were only a banal element of the decor or an integral part of yourself, deserving as such no sensory impulse, no particular passion. Above all, you fear losing your harmony and your balance by indulging in voluptuousness, desires and pleasures. You abandon yourself, you let go, you slouch where you should be amiable, agreeable, seductive.

Dissonant Venus-Sun aspect (conjunction, semi-square)

Sun ‘rR’ ↔ Venus ‘eR’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect)

If and when the Sun dominates : you feel that it would be a shame to agree to be moved. You forbid yourself any emotional outpouring in the name of rigid conceptions. By dint of wanting to be exemplary, admirable, unique, you forget to be friendly, close, touching, seductive. You are afraid of losing your bearings by letting yourself go with the impulses of your heart. Even emotionally shaken, you strive to keep the impeccable mask of who wants to give himself the image of someone unshakeable. Prisoner or hostage of models or ideals, you do not know how to pour yourself out, to live according to what you feel about beings and things. Where you should be tender and compassionate, you are stiff and solemn, as if starched in a grave awareness of yourself and your dignity that you refuse to share with others. You want to give a perfect image of yourself that no feeling can tarnish.

Dissonant Venus-Mercury aspect (conjunction, semi-square)

Mercury ‘tR’ ↔ Venus ‘eR’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect)

If and when Mercury dominates : too mobile, too unstable, too dispersed, you are unable to attach yourself permanently to someone or something. Supporter of a freedom without goal and without constraints, you fear above all to find yourself prisoner of a privileged relationship based on emotions and shared sensations. So you prefer to multiply anecdotal meetings, without consequences or tomorrow, rather than having to let express the impulses of your heart, which you have a rather dry. You took refuge in abstractions, futilities, irony or puns to resist the call of the senses, the temptation to fall in love. You don’t take any affective ties seriously : feelings are just an entertaining pantomime for you. You mock the delicate aesthetic perceptions and multiply the annoyances rather than agreeing to show your tenderness.

Dissonant Venus-Mars aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Venus ‘eR’ ↔ Mars ‘eE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : frank, brutal, impatient to act, to confront beings, things and situations, you consider yourself dispensed from any delicate attention. Your insane dynamism, your wild activism make you deaf and blind to the affective expectations of others. The theater of your heart, of your friendly or romantic duets, is a battlefield, a permanent duel, governed by power relations excluding tenderness, compassion, sweet and beautiful feelings. Rudeness outweighs grace with you. Your frankness without frills and without regard for the sensitivity of others prevents you from realizing that you are words that hurt, words that kill. Taken up by what you are doing right now, by your mechanical activities, you no longer know how to be moved by the beauty of things. Boorish and rough-hewn, you are the opposite of the voluptuous Prince Charming.

Dissonant Venus-Jupiter aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Venus ‘eR’ ↔ Jupiter ‘rE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Jupiter dominates : Obsessed with your desire to be reasonable, to respect the conventions of your social environment, you neglect your affective relationships. Your desire to succeed at all costs, to have your achievements recognized in the public square, pushes you to neglect your own sensitivity and that of others. To satisfy your material ambitions and your thirst for respectability, you are ready to put aside your likes and dislikes, your epidermal sympathies and antipathies, and to seize an interesting opportunity, to evacuate all tenderness and all compassion. Beautiful and loud speaker, gifted for self-promotion and self-satisfaction, you are devoid of any charm, any seduction. You impose yourself with arrogance, you gargle with grandstand effects when you need to touch and move. You are ready without hesitation to build your economic and social success on the ruins of your heart.

Dissonant Venus-Saturn aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Venus ‘eR’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Saturn dominates : in the name of a cold and dry reason, of a hypothetical absolute or of an uncertain quest for meaning, you silence within you any sensitivity that you assimilate to sentimentality. Convinced that there is no happy love, you take malicious pleasure in forbidding yourself any satisfaction of your desires, in remaining deaf to the call of your senses. You seek to distance yourself as much as possible from any attachment, from any privileged relationship based on shared emotions, at the risk of isolation or a more or less well accepted loneliness. You probe and auscultate hearts, without gentleness or tenderness, to discover their hidden workings. Your ascetic rigor forbids you to give in to the temptations and desires of the moment. By dint of prudence and foresight, you forbid yourself the ephemeral but real delights of passion.

Dissonant Venus-Uranus aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Venus ‘eR’ ↔ Uranus ‘rT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Uranus dominates : you exercise such cerebral control over your affects that you block or prohibit their natural emergence. You theorize excessively in defiance of the realities of the heart. A cold intellectual machine, you may find tender attachments a waste of time when you have so many great things to create or accomplish. Your uncompromising independence forbids you to mislead yourself into privileged relationships where you would have to deal with the sensitivity of others. Unless, yielding to your dominating inclinations, you take yourself for an inspired Pygmalion who holds under a despotic rule and seeks to mold in your image the unfortunate partner that your head, more than your heart, will have chosen. You are brittle when it is necessary to seduce, haughty when the maneuvers of charm are essential, tense when you abandon yourself to emotion.

Dissonant Venus-Neptune aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Venus ‘eR’ ↔ Neptune ‘eT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Neptune dominates : you are a prisoner of powerful and deep emotional aspirations that you are unable to embody in life together. Everything happens as if your heart were too small to contain the protean manifestations of your imagination or your unconscious. You are tempted to ward off your inability to really invest yourself in a tender privileged relationship by sublimating it in a hovering mysticism, real or purely chimerical. In this case, your longing for universal love reflects your difficulty in establishing real personal connections. You prefer the song of the sirens to the sweet words of your loved ones. Your intuitions struggle to find the model images that could embody them : as a result, you are vague, confused, sibylline, sometimes completely incomprehensible. You can also be the hostage of a voluptuousness, an irrepressible sensuality which disrupts in depth your senses and your perceptions.

Dissonant Venus-Pluto aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Venus ‘eR’ ↔ Pluto ‘tT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Pluto dominates : cold, insensitive and seemingly inhuman, you flee all privileged relationships, all personal ties, all tender attachments. You can do this in different ways : either by multiplying emotional relationships or voluptuous conquests without ever investing yourself deeply in them, or by taking refuge in an icy solitude, by prohibiting your heart from any excitement or quivering. You seem to find a black satisfaction in showing yourselves under your less attractive aspects, in breaking the spell with your disturbing silences or your pitiless lucidity. Haunted by universal problems, the mysteries of the invisible, the absurd or the certainty of annihilation, you forget all love, all desire, all compassion. You may be tempted to sneakily manipulate naive hearts and human passions.

Les significations planétaires

par Richard Pellard

620 pages.
