Saturn
Dissonant saturnian aspects (non-dominant Saturn)
by Richard Pellard
English translation by Julien Rouger

The interpretation examples that we are suggesting are very far from being exhaustive : they only show and outline a general frame describing the issues of the aspect. They should therefore not be taken literally. Each being brings indeed its own responses, more or less original, to the questions raised by an aspect. There is no magic formula. Through using the R.E.T. and the Theory of Ages and combining logic, observation and imagination, you will be able to develop a thousand other possible meanings, a thousand other variations on the same theme.

Dissonant Saturn-Moon aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Moon ‘p’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when the Moon dominates : you do everything in your power to preserve your peace of mind, your privacy, your daily life, from the difficulties and vagaries of life. You fear above all to be left to yourself, without support or support. You flee in daydreams that you would like to be blissful, but which are tinged with bitterness and gloom, questions without simple answers, disturbing questions, destabilizing perplexities. On the lookout, on the defensive, you always suspect the worst : spoliation, fatal separation, possible lack. Your emotional immaturity can encourage you to take refuge in the role of the vulnerable and misunderstood little child. The slightest event that disturbs the bubble where you barricade yourself against an outside world perceived as a priori threatening destabilizes you, threatens your internal cohesion, plagues you with doubts.

Dissonant Saturn-Sun aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Sun ‘rR’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when the Sun dominates : draped in a high awareness of yourself, barricaded in your certainties, you fear above all abandonment, questioning, complex and indecipherable situations. You strive to ward off the doubts that undermine you from within by donning the impassive mask of a misunderstood solitary bearer of obvious and eternal truths. You thus willingly play the severe lesson giver, even though you are not so assured in your convictions as you let it appear. Egocentric and proud, secretly anxious and worried, you flee situations or beings likely to undermine or challenge your authority or your character in depth. In one way or another, you defend established values against the sneaky corrosions and metamorphoses that threaten them.

Dissonant Saturn-Mercury aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Mercury ‘tR’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mercury dominates : inconsistent, relaxed, dispersed, you sin by lightness, by lack of deep roots in lived experience. Your jumping and unbridled imagination is exercised to the detriment of all logic and all analytical rigour. You find a thousand reasons to distract yourself in the anecdotal, the futile and the inessential to escape heavy and austere reflections, melancholy, necessary chores, thankless responsibilities. You deal overhand with the serious and dark problems of existence, which are just a game for you. Your unbridled humor transforms drama into comedy. You speak to say nothing deep, change your mind like a shirt without digging into your experiences to base your opinions. You speculate on empty, launch a thousand imprudent, preposterous or perfectly pointless hypotheses without thinking of deepening them.

Dissonant Saturn-Venus aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Venus ‘eR’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Venus dominates : Above all, you fear affective frustrations, lack of love, sentimental estrangement. Your heart has reasons that wisdom totally ignores. In your dread of seeing your unsatisfied desires, your unfulfilled wishes, your unsatisfied whims, you struggle to enjoy voluptuously the good things in life before some catastrophe comes to deprive you of the beings or things that are dear to your heart. heart. You are incapable of stepping back, of analyzing the whys and wherefores of your likes and dislikes, likes and dislikes that are thoughtless and often without serious foundations. You prefer to let yourself be moved, touched and seduced rather than probing the beings and things that charm you. You take refuge in a cutesy aestheticism to escape cold abstractions, and worry that your taste for pleasure may be thwarted by unpleasant responsibilities.

Dissonant Saturn-Mars aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Mars ‘eE’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you seem unable to take any distance whatsoever in your immediate experience. Devoured by your impatience to act, to launch yourself passionately into the experience, you neglect all calculation, all strategy, all prudence. The long-term consequences of your rash actions don’t seem to worry you. You exhaust yourself in struggles and various conflicts so as not to have to question yourself about the root causes of your behaviors. Point-blank activism is for you a remedy, often worse than the disease, against melancholy, doubt, disenchantment. You fear situations of idleness where there is nothing to do, where you risk finding yourself faced with yourself, your questions, confronted with the deep meaning of your existence. Your down-to-earth realism makes you reject abstractions, which you consider useless waste of time.

Dissonant Saturn-Jupiter aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Jupiter ‘rE’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Jupiter dominates : by dint of conforming to the norms and models that regulate social life, you are unable to distance yourself wisely from your experience. Your short-sighted materialism, your quest for public recognition and personal glory keep you away from any in-depth reflection. Your cookie-cutter judgments are alarmingly simplistic, the antithesis of any subtle investigation. You throw yourself voraciously and recklessly at any opportunity that might round out your kitty or speed up your career without worrying about the long-term consequences of your thirst for power and notoriety. You speak when you should be silent and only want to see the good side of people, things and situations—the one that goes in the direction of your goals and ambitions—even if it means dangerously underestimating the underlying difficulties.

Dissonant Saturn-Uranus aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Saturn ‘tE’ ↔ Uranus ‘rT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Uranus dominates : you affirm with aplomb, authority and intransigence your intuitively revealed and rigorously structured certainties in defiance of any in-depth experimental research, any serious investigation into the complex universe of beings, things and situations. Your despotic will to power persists in repressing in you and around you all that could resemble a doubt, an interrogation, a questioning, or quite simply a relevant reflection based on a scrupulous analysis of the facts. You decide with audacity where it would be necessary to think long and hard before committing, cut to the heart of subjects that would require prudence and circumspection. Above all, you fear that your reasoning and certainties, built on presuppositions that could not be more uncertain, will be undermined and sabotaged.

Dissonant Saturn-Neptune aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Saturn ‘tE’ ↔ Neptune ‘eT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Neptune dominates : you live in a troubled world populated by chimeras, confused aspirations, convoluted states of mind and deep emotional turbulence that you are careful not to put to the test of facts and their experimental criticism. No constructive skepticism can protect you against the spells of your overly prolix imagination, and the voice of deep reason cannot distract you from the song of your inner or outer sirens. You take refuge in an elsewhere which you madly hope will allow you to escape the rigors and difficulties of your present situation. You invent mysteries for yourself, for lack of being able or wanting to investigate the real secrets and enigmas of things, beings and situations. Your irrational reliance on the virtues of providence or your guesswork makes you reckless and short-sighted.

Dissonant Saturn-Pluto aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Saturn ‘tE’ ↔ Pluto ‘tT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Pluto dominates : intimately and intuitively convinced that basically, nothing is worth anything and that even the most in-depth research only ever leads to unfathomable and inexpressible mysteries, you come to the point of not even asking yourself the slightest fundamental question concerning the hidden contents of existence. The most subtle reasonings and the most perspicacious investigations into the heart of the matter of beings, things and situations appear to you like porridge, imbued as you are with the sense of the absurd or the unknowable. Wanting to transform the present, even in the most realistically pessimistic way, seems like a pleasant utopia to you. All you have left then is a deep and incurable despair, nihilistic temptations or the mystical or philosophical refuge in the arid lands of being-in-itself, hoping perhaps that your night will give birth to another sun.

Les significations planétaires

par Richard Pellard

620 pages.
