Sun
Dissonant solar aspects (non-dominant Sun)
by Richard Pellard
English translation by Julien Rouger

The interpretation examples that we are suggesting are very far from being exhaustive : they only show and outline a general frame describing the issues of the aspect. They should therefore not be taken literally. Each being brings indeed its own responses, more or less original, to the questions raised by an aspect. There is no magic formula. Through using the R.E.T. and the Theory of Ages and combining logic, observation and imagination, you will be able to develop a thousand other possible meanings, a thousand other variations on the same theme.

Dissonant Sun-Moon aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Moon ‘p’ ↔ Sun ‘P’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when the Moon dominates : attached to your peace of mind, your well-being and your peace of mind, you have a hard time appearing, playing the role expected of you, asserting yourself as an individual, adapting socially. Suggestive and nonchalant, your abandonment to sweet daydreams prevents you from any sustained attention, any vigilant concentration. You vegetate in a peaceful anarchy, in deep osmosis with your surrounding environment, and avoid like the plague the moments when it is essential to formulate clear objectives, to make binding decisions. To the logic of normative models, you oppose the subjectivity of your disorderly imagination. Too comfortable in your bubble, you are anxious about leaving it to get involved in a goal, a project, a relationship. Your global perception of the world seems incompatible with any strong and structured model.

Dissonant Sun-Mercury aspect (conjunction)

Sun ‘rR’ ↔ Mercury ‘tR’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect)

If and when Mercury dominates : being multifaceted, you are unable to stick to a definitive choice, decision, orientation or point of view. Relaxed and casual, you scatter to the four winds of your many unrealistic projects, your many unimportant and inconsequential encounters. You constantly need the never-seen, the unexpected, and your unstable and bouncy curiosity prohibits you from any consistency whatsoever. You do not involve yourself in his words or opinions : you speak for the pleasure of communicating, without worrying about deepening or giving meaning to your chatter. You fear above all the blinders of the acquired, the straightjacket of the definitive, the prison of constant convictions. To preserve unconstrained freedom, you manage to avoid all responsibility, making fun of people who are too serious as you pass.

Dissonant Sun-Venus aspect (conjunction, semi-square)

Sun ‘rR’ ↔ Venus ‘eR’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect)

If and when Venus dominates : monopolized by your desire to please, to seduce and to fully enjoy your sensoriality, you reject any binding norm. Civic or moral rules seem to you to be a brake on all enjoyment. Your likes and dislikes, likes and dislikes are expressed spontaneously, without direction. You live according to the inclinations of your heart and your feelings, refusing to be aware of what really motivates you. You prefer to be seduced or softened than convinced, and your convictions, if you have any, are of variable geometry : it is enough to charm you to make you change your opinion. Nothing tempts you and leads you away from the straight path you thought you had set for yourself or from the basic principles that should dictate all conduct. You act and above all react emotionally as if nothing is really important to you other than the satisfaction of your desires of the moment.

Dissonant Sun-Mars aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Sun ‘P’ ↔ Mars ‘P’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you claim a freedom of action that suffers no order, no goal, no constraint. Reactive, even aggressive, you willingly take on anything that represents authority. Viscerally undisciplined, you allow yourself to be dominated by your destructive impulses which make you a counter-example, a model not to be followed. You want to live at close range, to experiment live, without taking into account the laws, standards and models in use. Your messy dynamism attacks any form of conservative stasis. Your primary realism, aiming for immediate effectiveness, seems devoid of any idealism. Your vigorous, blunt frankness and senseless agitation seem to be the only laws you know and obey. Passionate, quarrelsome, the rules of social life are for you only hypocrisies against which you must fight without concession.

Dissonant Sun-Jupiter aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Sun ‘rR’ ↔ Jupiter ‘rE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Jupiter dominates : you are so obsessed with the defense of your material interests, the development of your career plan and the satisfaction of your unbridled ambitions that you forget all nobility, all principles, all ideals. A brilliant conversationalist, flatterer or despotic depending on the circumstances, your shameless opportunism makes you a counter-example of good citizenship. The facade of respectability that you intend to maintain does not hide the little regard you give to individuals when your interest is at stake. Suffering from the syndrome of the “new rich”, you parade, boast and display your status without any concern for distinction. In a less dramatic register, you can be so well adapted to the laws and rules of your social environment that you completely forget to be your own model, to defend the rights of your individuality against the weight of conformity.

Dissonant Sun-Saturn aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Sun ‘rR’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Saturn dominates : hardened in your skepticism by experience, you believe in nothing, and especially not in simple, monolithic, reassuring certainties, to such an extent that you doubt everything and everyone, including yourself. You take refuge in your own self, in your austere ruminations to protect yourself from the gaze and judgment of others. Solitary, cold, calculating, taciturn, you refuse, out of excessive caution or fear, to commit yourself, to get involved in any role or purpose whatsoever. By dint of not being recognized, celebrated, admired, praised—it must be said that you do nothing to achieve this—you may be tempted to lock yourself up in bitterness and renunciation, unless you dwell on the silence of your being of secret ambitions and inaccessible dreams of glory. At best, your wisdom, your rigor and your disinterestedness are not recognized by anyone, and you suffer silently from it.

Dissonant Sun-Uranus aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Sun ‘rR’ ↔ Uranus ‘rT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Uranus dominates : you are the consenting and authoritative hostage of your inner voices, your intimate convictions and your “brilliant” intuitions. They imperiously command you to go against received ideas, to confidently affirm your uniqueness, to impose your own arbitrary conceptions contrary to commonly shared principles and models. Schematic, ambitious, obsessed with order, overly systematic, you do not hesitate to despotically use and abuse your authority without any consideration for the individuals around you. Your frenetic voluntarism, your permanent need to surpass yourself and to give of yourself the image of an exceptional being prohibits you from any stable role or function. Your arrogance, your ambition or your contempt make you a perfect model not to follow for those who prefer eternal and aristocratic values.

Dissonant Sun-Neptune aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Sun ‘rR’ ↔ Neptune ‘eT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Neptune dominates : you allow yourself to be dominated by the unpredictable logic of your moods, of your reactions dictated by the unconscious, at the risk of lacking reliable points of reference, strong certainties. The song of internal or external sirens bewitches you, the chimeras preside over your behavior and decisions. Obscure, cloudy, ambiguous, you delight in an indecipherable chiaroscuro that makes it unpredictable, incomprehensible, inconsistent. Unable to get involved in anything and to respect any guideline, you multiply the red herrings, hostage to a stormy experience. Refractory to any principle, any law, any regulatory model, depersonalization, the destructuring of individuality await you, lacking clear perspectives. You can possibly let yourself be tempted by any ideology or belief tending to reduce the individual to an illusory manifestation of an unverifiable elsewhere, without rhyme or reason.

Dissonant Sun-Pluto aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Sun ‘P’ ↔ Pluto ‘P’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Pluto dominates : you refuse or are unable to stick to any belief, certainty or guideline. In one way or another, you are an outcast, a lawless protester. Driven by an obscure but powerful internal necessity, you cannot help being disturbing, playing the anti-models, taking the exact opposite view of established knowledge and “normal” behavior. Through your heavy silences which perhaps say a lot, as in your words which worry, destabilize or intrigue, you constantly show your shift, your distance, your mystery, your radical otherness. Complex, coldly lucid, Machiavellian-calculator or annihilated-desperate, you are in any case perfectly indifferent to respect for individuality. This is why you may not hesitate to pull the strings of those whom you consider to be derisory puppets in the theater of the absurd.

Les significations planétaires

par Richard Pellard

620 pages.
